A standard for improving digital local public services.

The Local Government Digital Standard is a freely and openly published tool for local authorities to use to help improve their digital work.

It was developed by Luton Borough Council – but was designed to be applicable to any council’s context. We want to grow a community around the standard to engage councils with it, and keep it updated and helpful!

LGDS does not replace the Government Service Standard. Instead, it should be seen as a set of training wheels for councils getting started with this area of work, using a simpler standard that nonetheless is fully in step with the spirit of its more comprehensive elder sibling.
